Introduction
A radar training simulator you can vector real traffic on, from the client you already use.
ATC-Sim generates aircraft, flies them on published performance data, and presents them to your radar client over the same protocol a live network uses. From the scope it looks like an ordinary session. It exists so you can practise the arrival picture without needing anyone else online.
Randomised sessions run at eight airports today: Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne, Vienna and Friedrichshafen. Each draws on real flights with the flight plans they filed. There are no recorded replays at the moment, so session list <AIRPORT> answers that no sessions are bundled.
What it is
Real traffic
Flights that really arrived, with the aircraft types, airlines and routes they really filed.
Real performance
213 aircraft types, each flying its own published figures rather than a shared approximation.
The client you already use
Aurora, connected the way you connect to a network. Strips, squawks, readbacks, nothing new to learn.
On your schedule
Start a session, work it, stop when you want. Nobody else has to be online.
What it is not
Not a network
No other controllers unless you have arranged them, and no human pilots.
Arrivals only
Nothing takes off. Aircraft appear already airborne, and every session generates inbounds.
Not voice
Everything happens over text on frequency. Connect with voice disabled.
Two airports at once
Sessions run at up to two airports at the same time unless whoever runs the server chose otherwise. A pause freezes the whole simulation for everyone connected.
